2023 Week 3 Results
If a tree falls down in the woods and no one is around, does it still make noise? If someone makes a hole in one second time around, does it count to the skin pool in the SIGL league? – NO, but congratulations to Steve Danieli for ACING hole 6!
We had another nice turn out for week 3: 26 public and 20 members played. I heard the conditions were tough and that was the reason for only 10 players to be on the positive side of their quota. The poor play had nothing to do with quota changing this week !!!
Individual Play - Pete Frasca was able to navigate the greens just a tad bit better than Dan McGarry. Pete was a +4 and Dan was +3. Nice playing !!!
Team Play - The team of Kevin McCoy (+2) and Dan McGarry (+3) at +5 captured first. Second week in a row for Kevin McCoy and his team to place in the money. This is also the second week in a row that Mike Silva has been CARRIED to the money circle. I guess it is better to be lucky than good. Mike Silvia (-1) and Pete Frasca (+4) were good enough for second at +3. There was a card off between Mike Silvia/Pete Frasca and Chris Sullivan/Pete Frasca. Mike bogeyed 7 well Chris double bogeyed seven.
Closest to the Pin: Matt Urban stuck his shot closest to the pin with 3’10” the inches closer than Bob Loring. The streak continued as he also made the putt.
Front nine birdie pool: We had a total of SIX birdies on the front nine with only one surviving. Mark Nolan, Steve Dow and Matt Urban all birdie hole 4 and Eric Aronson and Kevin McCoy birdie hole 8. Steve Lozzi had the only surviving birdie on the front nine on hole 6. Nice job !!!
