Welcome Back Letter

Ladies and Gentlemen

Welcome back to another Year of SIGL! As you know, most of those  years have been spent at Easton Country Club, Southern New England's premier wedding and golf destination and home to the two-time retired commissioner,  Larry”The Mayor”  Barry. I am not sure if anyone noticed but Larry Barry retired the same year as Tom “The Goat” Brady because I believe he wanted to be in the same Hall of Fame class as him.

In all seriousness,  I would like to thank Mayor Larry Barry for all the time and energy that he has  put into this league over the last 25 plus years. We have been fortunate that Larry has run the league the way that he did. I have some big shoes to fill, and I just hope that I am able to run the league as smoothly as he did. So, when you see him please be sure to say THANK YOU

Opening night is scheduled for Tuesday, April 26th  - weather permitting. With the size of the league you will need to book your tee time each week.

Tee times: Although you cannot reserve a team for the entire year, you can reserve the time one week ahead, So for instance, when you sign in next week for Week 1, be sure to reserve your Week 2 tee time then.

For those of you that have indicated that they have friends who want to join, they must contact me in order to sign up. There are limited spots, and they can't just show up on opening night. Have them contact us with name, phone number, and e-mail address.

For golfers who played in the league last year and are not playing the league this year please let me know so  I don’t turn anyone away.

Dues are $720 for the year ($29x20 + 140), which includes the birdie pool or $680 without the birdie pool. Dues for Easton C.C. members will be $140/$100. Please have the first half payment ($360/$340 or $70/$50) ready on the first night.

There is ONE MAJOR CHANGE  to the league this year. If you are paying by check you will need to make the check out to me, Greg Paone instead of SIGL. Larry and I were not able to switch the account from his name to my name due to some red tape. Larry can explain more if you want to know more about it.

The year-end tournament is  scheduled for  Sunday October 2, please keep in mind that the date has to be reserved early, and there are limited dates available due to Easton's heavy weekend tournament bookings. I understand conflicts happen but rescheduling the tournament will not be an option.

Thank you for your time. Feel free to contact me with any questions or if you are not going to be playing.

See you in April !

Greg
