Before we can get into the Week 9 recap: I cannot believe next week will be the halfway point to the league. As a reminder the league will not be playing during the week of July 4th and second half payments will need to be paid up by week 11.

We had 43 out of 55 players show up for week 9. Tough week for scoring as only 15 players out scored their quota for the week. Please continue to check your quota as they will be updated week to week.

Individual Play - Nick DeJesus had a nice round with a +7 which ties the high for this year. It was also the second week in a row that the winner of individual play did not record a birdie during their round. Tim Greene and Scott Silvia were both +4 for the day but Tim Greene was able to capture second in the card-off.

Team Play - Nick DeJesus and Richie White took first place in team play with a +9 for the week.  Paul McDermott and Tim Greene grab the second-place spot in a card off against Nick DeJesus/Mike Bradley and Nick DeJesus/Vijay Popat.

Closest to the Pin: Tim Greene rolled up his shot to 9’10” and our streak of not making the putt is up to two weeks.

Front Nine Birdie Pool: We had a total of 10 birdies in the front (back to normal I hope) with hole 5 (Paul McDermott) and hole 6 (George Kelly) surviving. Hole 4 (Bourne, Svirsky, and S. Siliva), hole 8 (White and McGarry) and hole 9 (M. Silva, Greene and Raynard) were all covered.

Back Nine Birdie Pool: We had a total of 7 birdies with FIVE of them surviving: hole 10 (Scott Silvia), hole 12 (Ed Finn), hole 13 (Richie White), hole 15 (Mike Silva) and hole 16 (Paul McDermott). The only hole that did not survive was hole 14 (Sully and Musgrove)

Before we can get into the Week 8 recap Happy Father’s Day to all those fathers out there.

We had another nice turn out for week 8 with a total of 50 players. Of the 50 players 29 of them scored on the plus side of their quota but we had only had two birdies in total. Please continue to check your quota as they will be updated week to week.

Individual Play - Kevin Giffen had a nice steady day as he was +6 with no birdie. TJ took second with a +5 and winning in a card off over Lou Silva and Chris Sullivan with a par on 7.

Team Play - TJ and Mike Burke were teamed up to combine for a plus 7 for the day. They beat the team of Ted Meyer and Mike Leanard by one point.

Closest to the Pin: Mike Silva made a one nice shot during his round on hole 2  and stuck it to 5’6”. Our streak of making the putt ended after one week.

Front nine birdie pool: We had a total of 3 birdies. That is a total of 3 birdies in the last two weeks. Jim Liddick on 4 had the only surviving birdie and Lou Silva and Paul Sully covered each other on 9.

Back nine birdie pool: We had a total 10 birdies with only one surviving birdie on hole 15 by Richie White. With the only surviving birdie in the last two weeks, he gets the whole pot of $210. Hole 12 (M. Silva, Raymo, and Mathieson), Hole 13 (Leonard, McGarry, M Silva and Dejesus) and Hole 14 (McDermott andRaymo) were all covered.

HOLE 13 & 14 COVERED

Before we can get into the Week 7 recap there are a few things I want to cover. The first is our cancellation policy.   It is very difficult to cancel our league because we have players who tee off first thing in the morning and others who tee off after 5pm which makes it difficult to call for a cancellation if it does not call for rain all day. We implemented a rule a few years back if carts are allowed out the league is on.  Next item is the carry over for skins. We had no surviving skins on the front or the back nine this week. Next week's skins will be $50 each for the front nine. As for the back nine carry over, only the people who enter in this week's back nine birdie pool can win this week's pot but there is still next week's pot for anyone who wants to get in the back nine birdie pool who did not enter in this week pool.

We had another nice turn out for week 7 with a total of 47 players. Of the 47 players 25 of them scored on the plus side of their quota but we had the few total birdies of the season. Please continue to check your quota as they will be updated week to week.

Individual Play - Dylan Amaral had a great day on the golf course by shooting +6 over quota. His chipping in on the eighth hole for birdie helped him secure the win over the group of players at +4. Greg Williams, Ed Finn and Mike Bradley were all plus four for the day. Greg William stood tall with a par on 1 and 7 to win the card off (Finn par 1 and bogey 7 while Bradley double the first)

Team Play - Dylane Amaral and Ed Finn were teamed up yesterday to combine for a plus 10 for the day. They doubled the second place points. Greg Willard and Dan Raymo took second by the way of a card off over Griffen/McGarry. Willard/Raymo had a combined strokes of 9 on the first hole while Griffen/McGarry had a total of 12.

Closest to the Pin: Kevin Giffen made a nice shot on Hole 9 by sticking it to 3’6”.  He was able to make the putt and stop the streak of not making the putt at 3 weeks and started the streak of making the putt at 1 week.

Front nine birdie pool: We had a total of 5 birdies and no surviving birdies. McGarry/Amaral covered each other on 8 and Dejesus/Griffen/Dow covered each other on 9.

Back nine birdie pool: This is the third week in a row we had more birdies on the front than back but just like the front we had no surviving birdies: hole 13 was covered by Richie White/Kelly and hole 14 was covered by Steve Danieli/Larry Barry.

Before we can get into the Week 6 recap, if you have the chance to play Point Sebago GC in Maine it is well worth the time. Greens were lightning-quick, the course was well taken care of, and the views were unbelievable.

We had another nice turn out for week 6 with a total of 45 players. Of the 45 players 17 of them scored on the plus side of their quota. Please continue to check your quota as they will be updated week to week.

Individual Play - Eric Aronson had a great day on the golf course by shooting +7 over quota. Ned Babyak continued his great play by following last week's +7 with a +5.

Team Play - I don't ever recall the two top individual players being paired up in team play and that is exactly what happened this week. Eric Aronson/Ned Babyak (+12) ran away with the victory. Second place we had a card off with Simmons/Giffen and Babyak/Daniels. Simmons/Giffen won on the 7th hole with a combined score of 10 vs 11.

Closest to the Pin: Steve Dow made a nice shot on Hole 8 by sticking it to 9’9”. The streak of not making the putt is now at 3 weeks in a row.

Front nine birdie pool: We had 9 birdies on the front nine and three survived:  Paul Sully (1), Mike Leorand (5) and Eric Aronson (9) survived. Babyak/Aronson birdie 2 and Svirsky/Raymo birdie 4 covered each other on hole 2.

Back nine birdie pool: This is the second week in a row we had more birdies on the front than back. Larry Barry (14) and Musgrove (15) had the only two surviving birdies on the back nine. To nobody’s surprise hole 13 was covered (Mathieson,Finn, McNiece and Svirisky) again.
