We had another nice turn out of 48 players this week and of the 49 players we had 32 players on the plus side of their quota. That is a new high for the league this year.  Richie White had the high points for the week with 17 points with 2 players at 16 points Mike Wall and Brian Murphy. As for team play we only had 20 out of 28 teams in the plus side.  Nice Job!!!

Individual Play -  We had three golfers this week shoot 6 over their quota Richie White, Brian Murphy and Paul Cahill.  Richie White took first by parring hole 1 in the card-off.  Paul Cahill took second place with a par on 7. Don't feel too bad for Bryan, his partner helped him out, which I can not say the same for the other two.

Team Play - Brian Murphy (+6) and Dana Willard (+4) for 10 over took first. Coming in two points behind for second place was Mark Daniels (+3) and Jon Tracy (+5) for 8 over. As stated before most of the other teams were on the plus side from +1 to +6. 

Closest to the Pin: Saul Payne put his approach to 21’ but Eric Aronson said that was not close enough and he shaved 10 feet off to 11’ 2’’. That was wrapped because now one else wrote their name down.

We made 11 birdies this week. Of those 11 birdies 4 of them lived: Paul Cahill(2) , Mark Daniels (3), Brian Murphy (5) and Dan Willard (9). Hole 4 (Bourne,Dejusus,Tracy), hole 6 (B.Murphy and R.White) and hole 8 (R. Duff and W.Musgrove) were covered.

We had 26 players enter the back nine birdie pool and there were 10 birdies: Mike Wall (12), Richie White (17) and Brian Murphy (18). Holes 11 (Doonan, Shannon, Barry) and hole 13 (Wall, Mathieson, Haslam and Shannon) were covered.

Before we get into our Week 8 Recap, I would like to announce that Mike McNeice has declined the LIV tour invitation. You can see by his playing that he was stressed out on deciding if he should go or stay.  Just a friendly reminder that we are almost to the halfway point of the league season and the second payment will be due within weeks 10 and 11.                         Finally, HAPPY FATHER’S DAY to all the fathers in the league. 

We had another nice turn out of 49 players this week and of the 49 players we had 23 players on the plus side of their quota. Chuck Mathieson had the high points for the week with 18 points with 3 players at 16 points Mike Wall, Dan Raymo and Greg Paone. As for team play we only had 9 out of 28 teams in the plus side. 

Individual Play -  Dan Raymo had  almost double his quota points this week with 16 points for a plus 7 this week. Greg Willard also had a great round putting up 16 points for plus 6 this week. I wonder if there is a shot he wishes he had back?

Team Play - We had two teams tied at plus 8: Greg Willard (+6)/Paul McDermott (+2) and Ted Meyer(+5)/Chuck Mathieson(+3) for 8 over. Greg and Paul were able to win the card off on hole one by one stroke 

Closest to the Pin: Jim Shannon keeps us rolling with another stellar shot into hole 2: 7’ 3”. Nice Shot!!!

We had a total of 10 birdies this week, four survived:  Scott Corwin hole 4, Dan McGrarry hole 5, Chuck Mathieson hole 6 and Mike Wall hole 7. Hole 8 (Babyak, Meyer and Dejesus) and hole 9 (Raymo, Murphy and Dow) were all covered. 

 

We had 22 players enter the back nine birdie pool and there were 9 birdies: John Hrenko (10), Mike Silva (11) and Bob Loring(14). Holes 13 (Hrenko, Barry and Dugan) and hole 17 (Raymo and McNiece) were covered.

Since there is nothing else to get into, lets get into the Week 7 ReCap!               Weather has been great, scores have been…well, not like the weather but at least we got some rain to help out the course and give everyone a few days off from golf to recover from swinging the club too many times.

We had another nice turn out of 46 players this week. Unfortunately, of the 46 players only 17  players were on the plus side of their quota but Mike McNeice -  who has officially submitted paperwork to play on the LIV tours - scored a season high 21 points.  Just for everyone to know I declined his request and told him he had to choose between US or THEM. 

Individual Play -  This week we had a pair of Mikes shoot 7 over their quota: Mike McNeice and Mike Bradley.  Mike McNeice took first by parring  hole 1 in the card-off.  We had two other  players that were 4 or 5 points above their quota: Raymo (+5) and Doonan (+4) . Nice shooting; keep up the good work.  

Team Play - We had two teams tied at plus 8 lead by Mike and Mike:  Mike McNeice (+7) and  Mark Nolan (+1) and Mike Bradley (+7) and Ron Duff (+1) for 8 over. It came down to the 7th hole for  Mike McNeice and Mark Nolan to win the card off.

Closest to the Pin: Now this is what I am talking about for closest to the pin!!! The winner of the closest to the pin was under five feet.  Ed Finn stuck his approach shot to 3’ 9”. Nice Shot!!!

We had a new high for total birdies with 13 this week and only three survived:  Mike McNeice birdie hole 4 and 7  along with Tim Green on hole 8. Hole 2 (M.Silva and Dow), hole 3 (M.Silva and Doonan), hole 6 (Loring, Lozzi, S.Silva) and hole 9 (Finn, Babyak, McNiece) were all covered. 

We had 28 players enter the back nine birdie pool and almost 25% of the players birdied hole 13 this week: Chuck Mathieson, Dan Raymo,Chris  Regan, Bill Doonan, Mike McNeice, Richie White, and Santa Clause.  The birdies that did survive were : Mike McNeice hole 11, Mike Bradley hole 14 and Mark Nolan hole 18.

Before we get into our Week 6 Recap … what a stretch of beautiful Tuesday weather we have been getting. It looks like the nice weather is helping out the league because 25  players are in the plus this week.  Hopefully I have fixed the hyperlink and  you are seeing this message; next time can someone send me an email to let me know it does not work so I can fix it - thanks.

Individual Play -  We had three  golfers this week shoot 6 over their quota: Andrew Dugan, Wayne Musgrove and Steve Dow. Andrew Dugan took first by paring hole 5 in the card off.  Wayne Musgrove took the second place card off with a bogey on one.  

Team Play - Andrew Dugan (+6) andEric Aronson (+3) for 9 over took first. Coming in one point behind for second place was Steve Dow (+6) and Pat Heffernan (+2) for 8 over.  Even with some many players in the plus these two teams  ran away with the team play as the next closest team was +6 (Musgrove and Tracy.) 

Closest to the Pin - We were on a good run with sticking our approach shot close but the last few weeks have not been the case. The week  was no different but Steve Dow was the closest with 14’9”  – congratulations!

We had a whopping total of 7 birdies again this week but only 2 of them survived. The  surviving birdies were : Jim Shannon  (5) and Wayne Musgrove (9). Hole 3 (Doonan, Musgrove and McNeice) and  hole 6 (Duff and Dugan) were covered.

We had 27 players enter the back nine birdie pool. We have a grand total of 11 birdies with 4 surviving: Greg Paone (13), Mike Silva (14),Chris Regan (16) and Nick Dejesus (17). Hole 12 (Doonan, Raymo and Paone) and hole 15 ( Regan, Doonan, Hranko and White) were covered.
