Before we get into our Week 5 Recap, we had some former members write on the Closest to the pin and it might have cost someone the win. So if anyone thinks they beat 10’11”  please let me know. Also if you are making the turn after 5:30pm can you turn your card in first so TJ and I can crunch numbers as they come in instead of sitting around waiting until 8:30 for you to finish.

We had  37 players this week. Of the 37 players 13 players were on the plus side of their quota. As a whole the league plus was not as high as last week but its lows were not as low. Which means the quota points are becoming more accurate each week.

Individual Play -  Mike Wall shot a +5  to take this week's high individual and Dave Finnergan  shot +4.   We had four players at +3: Aronson, McDermott, McNeice, and  Finn.

Team Play - Paul Raynard (+1)/Mike McNeice (+3) won in a card off over Dan Svirsky (+1)/ Ed Finn (+3) and John Tracy and Dave Finnergan with a birdie on 5. Good news for Dan and Ed is they took second place in card off with a par on 7 to beat John and Dave.

Closest to the Pin: Pete Fizacsa stuck his tee shot to 10’11” but unfortunately he is going to need to wait 48 hour to see if it holds up because we had some former members write down 2’1” so if anyone beat 10’11” please let me know.

We had a whopping total of 7 birdies this week with 3 surviving and 2 being covered. The three surviving birdies were : Mike Wall (2), Mike McNiece (5) and Finnegan (8). Hole 4 (Frasca and S.Silvia) and  hole 9 (M.Silva and Finn) were covered.

We had 25 players enter the back nine birdie pool. Of the 25 players we had five players making a birdie and all five birdies survived: Dan Svirsky(11), Paul McDermott (12), Mark Nolan (13), Saul Payne (14) and Richie White (18).

Before we get into our Week 4 Recap, I would like to thank everyone for the encouraging words on how I am doing after the first few weeks. A big shout out must go to TJ for helping out with crunching the numbers and running the backside nine birdie pool.

We had another nice turn out of 46 players this week. Of the 46 players 20 players were on the plus side of their quota. As a whole the league scores are improving slowly.

Individual Play -  We had a pair of golfers this week shoot 8 over their quota Mike McNiece and Ted Meyers.  Mike McNiece took first by birdieing hole 5 in the cardiff.  We had a few other players that were 4 or 5 points above their quota: Cahill, Chapman, Svirsky, Murphy, and Hrenko. Nice shooting; keep up the good work.

Team Play - Ted Meyers (+8) and Babyak (+2) for 10 over took first. Coming in one point behind for second place was Paul Cahill(+5) and Brian Murphy (+4) for 9 over.  There were some other great team scores like Aronson/McNiece (+6), Svirsky/Heffernan (+6),Chapman/Paone (+5) and  Tracy/Hrenko (+5).

Closest to the Pin: Hole four was playing extremely tough this week and I wondered when  Dan McGarry was writing down 28” 4’  should I even bother to write this down because someone is going to get closer… Well no one got closer  – congratulations!

We had our highest birdie total all year with 12. Of those 12 birdies 3 of them lived: Mike McNeiece (2) , Dylan Amaral (4) and Tim Greene(6). Hole 5 (McNiece, Regan, Paone, Barry), hole 8 (Mathieson and Dugan and Hole 9 (Svirsky, Murphy and Cahill) were covered.

With the return of the back nine birdie pool we had 24 people ($120) participate. There were 7 birdies on the back nine with 2 surviving: Bob Loring (14) and Mike Silva (15). Hole 13 (S.Silvia,Dugan and Wall) and  hole 18 (M.Silva and Finn) were covered.

Before we get into our Week 3 Recap, anyone who has not paid and has not shown up for the first three weeks will be removed from the pairing list.  As for the people who have played but have not paid I will be emailing you individually. I would love to wrap up the first half payments this week. Unfortunately we did not hit the 60 players mark that we needed to continue to pay top three places  so moving forward we will be paying out only the top 2 spots. If we do reach the 60 players mark I will bring back third place.

We had another nice turn out of 45 players this week. Of the 45 players 16 players were on the plus side of their quota. As a whole the league scores are improving slowly. I think next week is our week to succeed.  Quota will be adjusted for week 4

Individual Play -  Mark Daniels shot an impressive 9 over and Matt Urban had another solid week at +5 (Can someone say their quota will be going up this week). Scott Corwin took third over Mark Nolan with a par on 17.

Team Play -Mark Daniels(+9) and Bob Bourne(+2) took first with +11 but not too far behind them was the team of  Matt Urban(+5) and Mark Nolan (+4)  at +9. Coming in third at +4 was Richie White(+3) and Greg Paone (+1)

Closest to the Pin: John Tracy stuck his tee shot to 2’1’’ to take the closest to the pin win.

There were only 9 birdies on the back nine with 3 surviving:  Andrew Dugan (12), Greg Paone (13) and Mark Daniels(17). Hole 10 (White and Bourne),  hole 14 (Tracy and Corwin) and hole 15 (Shannon and G. Willard) were covered.

Before we get into Week 2 Recap, anyone who has not paid and has not shown up for the first three weeks will be removed from the pairing list. As for the people who have played but have not paid … please do not make me  send my Cousin Vinny to collect. He specializes in cement golf shoes.     Other than that, it was a beautiful day on the course.

We had a nice turn out of 46 players this week. Of the 46 players only 11 players were on the plus side of their quota. Quota will start to be adjusted after week three.

Individual Play -  Rookie Matt Urban was a solid 5 over his average. There were three players who tied for second and third at +3: Mike McNiece, Jim Shannon and myself. I was able to claim second place with birdie on hole 7 and Jim Shannon was able to claim third with a par on 1.

Team Play - Matt Ubran(+5) and Tom Nolan (+1) took first with plus 6.

Jim Shannon(+3)/Ronnie Duff(+2) and Mike McNiece(+3)/ Scott Siliva(+2) tied for second and third. Jim and Ronnie came out on top of the card off with a par on 1

(After week three if we are under 60 people in the league I will only be playing out top two place. )

Closest to the Pin: Yes closest to the pin was exactly the same distance as last week 2’10”. Scott Silvia had a nice approach shot this week.

There were only 8 birdies on the front nine with 3 surviving: SCOTT  SILIVA (3) DAN McGARRY (6) DUGAN (6). Hole 7(McNeice, Greene, Paone) and 8 (Babyak and Paone)were covered.

We had 29 entrants in the Back Nine skins pool WITH only 3  birdies and all 3 survived,  Bob Loring (12), Greg Paone (13) and Peter Frasca (16)
